Fixed star Prima Hyadum, Gamma Tauri (γ Tau), is a 4th-magnitude double star in the constellation Taurus. It marks the tip of the V in the Hyades star cluster, located on the Bull’s head.
Magnitude 3.65, spectral type G8III, color yellow. Prima Hyadum has similar properties to Capella (G8III). It is also a slow spinner, with a projected rotational velocity of 4 km/s. ^[1]

γ Tau is officially named Prima Hyadum, and traditionally Hyadum I, both Latin for “First of the Hyades.”
The Greeks knew them as Ὑάδες, which became “Hyades” with the cultured Latins, supposed by some to be from ὕειν, “to rain,” referring to the wet period attending their morning and evening setting in the latter parts of May and November; and this is their universal character in the literature of all ages. ^[2]

In Chinese astronomy, γ Tau is named 畢宿四 Bìsùsì, “Net Constellation IV.” It is the 4th star of the asterism Bi (Net) from the 19th Chinese lunar mansion, also named Bi. ^[3]

Prima Hyadum Astrology

The fixed star Prima Hyadum has spectral type G8, indicating the planetary nature of the Sun and, to a lesser degree, Mars. Compare with Capella (G8III).

SUN-MARS: Fearless, intolerant, warlike skill, overconfident, fierce, cruel, vindictive, energetic organizer, danger to the eyes, accidents, violent death. ^[4]

SPECTRAL CLASS G: A thoughtful, serious, sincere, hardworking, adventurous, private, demanding and self-centered nature. It brings career and material success, the ability to lead and conquer, keenness of mind, determination, endurance, a rise followed by a fall, melancholy, self-destruction, and possibly violence. Harsh aspects can cause impatience, irritability, hostility, excessive drive, and an overly ambitious nature. ^[5]

Fixed star Prima Hyadum rules straight across the shoulder line from left to right. ^[6]

If a celestial object resides at the center of Bi (Prima Hyadum), a female ruler will suffer anxiety. Mars entering the center of Bi means that military conflict arises but then ceases. Remaining in this position also indicates that hunting activities are taking place, with anxiety for the northern ruler and blocked roads across the realm. ^[7]

PRIMA HYADUM. γ Tauri.
(The chief star of the Hyades).
Legend. The Hyades were the seven daughters of Atlas and Æthra, half-sisters of the Pleiades, with whom they were entrusted by Jupiter with the care of the infant Bacchus. They were placed among the stars as a reward for their sisterly love, which is evidenced by their sorrow at the death of their brother Hyas, who was killed by a wild beast in Libya.
Notes. The Hyades consist of six stars (α, θ¹, θ², γ, δ, and ε, Tauri) situated on the forehead of the Bull and marking the northern eye.
Influence. According to Ptolemy, they are of the nature of Saturn and Mercury; and, to Alvidas, of Mercury and Mars. Simmonite likens the Hyades to Mars, but this is probably a misinterpretation of Ptolemy’s meaning. They give tears, sudden events, violence, fierceness, poisoning, blindness, wounds or injuries to the head by instruments, weapons or fevers, and contradictions of fortune. ^[4]

Hyades: In Mundane: Floods, which is why the Greeks interpreted the word “Hyades” as “the watery ones, bringing moisture,” although the actual meaning was perhaps “the piglets,” seeing a herd of these creatures in the stars. The Latin name “suculae” means the same. With the Moon and Venus, especially the latter when wounded by Saturn, they signify sexual licentiousness, lust, and in very bad cases, death from debauchery, as Ptolemy already indicates. The fundamental nature is Mars, perhaps intensified by Uranian forces and in any case of great destructive power, but an interference of Neptunian forces is also very clearly evident in the facts mentioned above and, for example, in horoscope 25 by Uhle, where the Hyades, in conjunction with Neptune in the 8th house, generated confused ideas of world happiness and megalomania. In the horoscope of Kürten, they increased his perversity and, in conjunction with the Sun, as I have shown in the directions, caused Kürten to be sentenced to a severe prison term for desertion (a Martian offense!) and fraud (Neptune!). Hyades.
The Hyades cluster of the rain stars, ot the Regen-Gestrim, raindrops, is still in the sign of the Bull. These stars bear out a Mars-Neptune character with a Uranian blend. Their influence is that of a staggering increase of the sexual urge; self-preservation, which could lead to greediness; sexuality; a dissolute life; excessive and licentious ways; and a striving for prestige leading to power politics. If this tendency is bridled, an increase in energy in the positive sense can be the result, leading to tremendous success in life. When the pinnacle of the career is reached, the danger appears that the inherent nature may come again to the fore, and may, if uncontrolled, lead to failure and fall from power. With a connection to the Hyades, it is doubly important that power and strength must not be used to exploit other human beings.
Vehlow recounts that “the Hyades with Neptune in the eighth house cause confused ideas, making ‘world saviors’ and leading to delusions of grandeur.” Vehlow did write this before 1934. It is therefore hardly possible that he meant this to refer to Hitler in whose nativity Pluto is found in conjunction with the Hyades, and nearby positioned is Neptune in the eighth house.
The Hyades on the MC or Asc and connected with Sun or Moon is supposed to give the aptitude for a military career. Connected with Saturn, the Hyades point to falls and accidents.
Sun conjunction Hyades is to be found in the cosmogram of Tito [no, but Neptune-Pluto]. Pluto conjunct Hyades is in Chiang Kai Chek’s cosmogram and also in Eisenhower’s (plus Neptune). Graf Luckner, well-known captain of the Seeteufel (German for “Devil of the Seas”), has his Asc with the Hyades [No, but Neptune, Pluto and North Node]. These examples show the conjunction of the Hyades borne out in a positive way. ^[9]

The Hyades as a group are violent and troublesome, causing storm and tempests both on land and sea. They have always been associated with rain (even China as well as Greece and Rome). Edmund Spencer calls them the “Moist Daughters,” and the stars have always had a favorable connotation regarding agriculture. Vivian Robson claims that Prima Hyadum is the chief star of the Hyades, but this is at variance with classical literature which gives this prominence to Aldebaran. ^[10]

The Hyades are a small group of six stars including the Eye of Taurus (Ain). Greek mythology saw them as the daughters of Atlas and Aethra, major figures in the pre-disaster period of our history. Like their half-sister the Pleiades, they were a sorrowful group – understandably after seeing Father try in vain to keep the sky (Phaeton’s debris) up off the Earth – and they have long portended rain, to both farmers and seafarers.
Prima Hyadum is a Saturn-Mercury star in Ptolemy’s coding, which we might well describe as unhappy thoughts, and so shows up when the star is on a difficult aspect or planet in a horoscope. But if it be harmonious in aspect, instead, the same star denotes a good clear thinker, writer or speaker.
Of the Hyades overall, we can now add the note that these princesses of one of Earth’s most powerful rulers in the run-up to the Disaster would indeed have been among those required to communicate the news to a panic-stricken population and to exercise firm control over them. And that is very much the quality we find in this part of Taurus Constellation, now in Gemini decan 1 (5 to 10° Gemini Sign). ^[11]

Asterism Bi the Net

Asterism Bi the Net is generally auspicious and signifies strength, energy, perseverance, endurance, stability, beauty, tranquility, harmony, intelligence, generosity and a degree of idealism. Financial management and planning skills lead to wealth and abundance, with both sons and daughters. A calm and gentle appearance belies cautious actions and an unwavering mind (or stubbornness). People with the Net in their charts speak thoughtfully and concisely, without excessive self-expression or boasting. Sticking to their word earns trust and respect.

Bi the Net is suitable for farming, agriculture, planting, repairing fields and houses, marriage, making clothes, building kitchens, food sheds, and livestock pens. It is also favorable for storing grain, food, and miscellaneous goods, and for dredging canals, repairing bridges, and undertaking anything that improves stability. It is not suitable for taking or lending money or generating wealth. ^[12]

The eight stars of Bi govern border troops and hunting expeditions. If these stars shine brightly and prominently, distant people come to pay homage, and the realm is at peace; if they dim or their color fades, border troops are in chaos; when one star is missing, it signifies war and loss. If they waver or move restlessly, border troops will mobilize. If they shift positions, prisons across the land will fall into chaos. If these stars gather closely together, laws and punishments will become harsh and severe.

A solar eclipse signifies that a border ruler will die; troops may kill their own leader, while distant states plot rebellion or disorder. If the sun is surrounded by a halo (the sun’s corona), border troops will be active; if not, this indicates anxiety for the northern ruler. It also signifies wind and rain.

A lunar eclipse indicates that an amnesty will be issued; there will be military conflict in the Zhao region, or the ruler of Zhao will suffer anxiety. If the moon is surrounded by a halo, warfare and disorder will erupt, famine and mourning will follow. If three halos appear around it, there will be rebellion on the borders; if rain or wind occurs within seven days, this omen may be resolved. It also indicates anxiety for a weak (southern) state and an amnesty across the realm.

If a celestial body transgresses Aldebaran, it signifies subordinates challenging superiors; a high-ranking general will die, and a weak (southern or yin) state will suffer anxiety. If an object enters the mouth of Bi (between Aldebaran and ε Tau, Ain), heavy rains will occur. If it pierces through Bi, famine will occur that year, and banditry will rise. If its position deviates from the constellation and moves away from Bi, rain will follow; if it resides at the center of Bi (Prima Hyadum), a female ruler will suffer anxiety. Another interpretation says transgressing to the north signifies anxiety for yin states, while transgression to the south indicates anxiety for yang (strong or northern) states.

If Mercury transgresses Bi, disasters will strike the border regions; if it enters the mouth of Bi (between Aldebaran and Ain), the state changes its governance. If it remains in this position, floods occur, the people suffer, crops fail to mature, and border troops mobilize. Remaining at the mouth of Bi indicates that people will rebel or cause disorder.

If Venus transgresses the right horn of Bi (Aldebaran), troops will suffer defeat and generals die. If it enters the mouth of Bi (between Aldebaran and Ain), generals, ministers and high-ranking officials rebel; a great amnesty is declared, the state changes its laws and policies, feudal lords raise armies, floods occur, and five grains fail to mature. If Venus pierces through Bi entirely, granaries become empty and military forces from four regions rise up in war.

If Mars transgresses the right horn of Bi (Aldebaran), a major battle will occur; if it transgresses the left horn (Ain), only minor warfare will take place. If it enters Bi, border forces become anxious; if it remains over Bi, famine occurs, and an amnesty is issued. If it forms a hooked or ringed pattern (勾巳环绕) [stations retrograde or direct], there will be a grand pardon. Another interpretation holds that entering the center of Bi (Prima Hyadum) means that military conflict arises but then ceases. Remaining in this position also indicates that hunting activities are taking place, with anxiety for the northern ruler and blocked roads across the realm. Entering the mouth of Bi signifies that an amnesty is declared; if Mars moves backward to Mao, death or mourning will occur. If it departs from Bi but returns again, high-ranking officials suffer anxiety. Leaving the mouth of Bi indicates anxiety in the Zhao state.

If Jupiter transgresses Bi, winter will see frequent winds and rain; another interpretation says it signifies floods. If it enters the mouth of Bi, border troops will rise, people will face famine, and an amnesty will be declared. If it remains in Bi for thirty days, foreign or guest troops will mobilize. Transgression to the sunny, strong (yang) side indicates drought; transgression to the shady, weak (yin) side signifies floods.

If Saturn transgresses Bi, troops will rise in the northwest, but there will be no battle. If it remains over this constellation, troops will surrender, and an amnesty is declared; another interpretation holds that heavy labor projects (or excessive land reclamation) and corvée labor become burdensome, leading to warfare. Entering Bi signifies earthquakes and flooding. Remaining at the mouth of Bi means a high-ranking individual will suffer consequences. Whether Saturn enters, exits, lingers or resides in this region, military conflict occurs, with foreign forces suffering defeat or death.

If a guest star transgresses Bi, the ruler and high-ranking individuals suffer anxiety; in times of peace, warfare erupts; if conflict already exists, it will cease. If the guest star enters Bi, many legal cases and imprisonments occur. If it remains in this position, it signifies famine and mobilization of border troops. If it leaves Bi, carriages and horses move in a rush.

When a guest star invades the area, the ruler worries; if there is no war, troops rise up; if there is war, troops cease; if it enters the area, there are many prisons; if it guards the area, there is famine and border troops rise up; if it leaves the area, there is a rush of carriages and horses.

If a comet transgresses Bi, chaos occurs in the north, and the people worry. If a comet appears, flares up, or becomes bright, local projects flourish, earthworks projects are initiated, and heavy corvée labor duties are imposed. If the color is bluish-green, it signifies famine and military defeat; if yellow, women will cause disorder or rebellion; if white, warfare and mourning occur; if black, floods follow.

If a meteor transgresses Bi, a major border war occurs; if it is red, a large-scale military invasion occurs. If a meteor enters and then exits Bi, an amnesty is declared. A yellow or white meteor with brightness entering signifies that foreigners will come to offer tribute.

If bluish-white clouds enter Bi, the harvest that year will fail; if red clouds do so, warfare, drought, and fires will occur. If yellow or white clouds appear, it signifies joy for the Emperor. ^[7]

Constellation Taurus the Bull

TAURUS. The Bull.
Legend. Jupiter, assuming the form of a bull, mingled with the herd when Europa, with whom he was infatuated, and her maidens disported themselves on the sea-shore. Encouraged by the tameness of the bull Europa mounted it, whereupon the God rushed into the sea and bore her away to Crete. According to other accounts Taurus represents Io whom Jupiter turned into a cow in order to deceive his wife Juno.
Influence. Ptolemy makes the following observations: “Those stars in Taurus which are in the abscission of the sign resemble in their temperament the influence of Venus, and in some degree that of Saturn . . . the stars in the head (except Aldebaran) resemble Saturn, and, partly, Mercury; and those at the top of the horns are like Mars.” By the Kabalists Taurus is associated with the Hebrew letter Aleph and the 1st Tarot Trump “The Juggler.” In all the ancient Zodiacs, Taurus is the beginning sign and marked the Vernal Equinox from about 4,000 to 1,700 B.C. ^[4]

The constellation was an object of worship in primitive cultures throughout the ages. To the ancient Egyptians, it was the bull-god Orissi, but according to R. A. Allen in Star Names and Their Meanings, the star was also worshiped by the Babylonians, Chinese, Druids, and some tribes of Amazon Indians. The Bull is now called Taurus (Tau) and traditionally presages the results of the beginnings of large political undertakings. The constellation also portends that which affects wild animals, especially those dangerous to man. ^[10]

Vehlow recounts that “the Hyades with Neptune in the eighth house cause confused ideas, making ‘world saviors’ and leading to delusions of grandeur.” Vehlow did write this before 1934. It is therefore hardly possible that he meant this to refer to Hitler in whose nativity Pluto is found in conjunction with the Hyades, and nearby positioned is Neptune in the eighth house. ^[9]
