On June 15, 2026, Donald Trump announced an agreement between the US and Iran to open the Straight of Hormuz. The deal was electronically signed over the weekend, and a signing ceremony is planned for Friday, June 19, in Switzerland.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOA) is not a comprehensive peal deal, but the main point seems to be getting the oil flowing before more damage is done to the global economy.
The chart below is for Trump’s post announcing the deal. The main planet to look at is Mercury, as it rules negotiation, ambassadors, messages, announcements, news and media, transport, trade and commerce.

Potential Problem 1
The placement of Mercury looks promising and seems to be the main reason for this agreement. However, Mercury entered the retrograde zone on June 12 at 16♋18. It stations retrograde on June 29 at 26♋15, during the 60-day ceasefire period in which a more expansive agreement is to be negotiated.
Potential Problem 2
Ascendant conjunct fixed star Zubenelgenubi (1°16′): Rise in fortunes, followed by a downfall. Danger in connection with water.
Symbolically called the Insufficient Price, it causes malevolence, obstruction, an unforgiving character, violence, disease, lying, crime, disgrace, and danger of poison, and “confiscation of possessions during times of war’. Conjunct Israel’s South Node (0°20′).
Potential Problem 3
The Midheaven is conjunct fixed star Alphard (1°29′). The Heart of the Water Snake gives great troubles, lack of self-control, immorality, revolting deeds, interest in shipping, and a sudden death by drowning, poison or asphyxiation. Conjunct Mars in the charts of Israel (1°44′), Benjamin Netanyahu (0°08′), and Donald Trump (0°14′).
New Moon square Midheaven creates many obstacles to success. The May 16 New Moon created more obstacles than most because it aligned with the fixed star Algol.
The Demon’s Head is associated with misfortune, violence, brutality, fanaticism, bigotry, propaganda, tragedies, destruction, disasters and violence and murder. Conjunct Israel’s Sun (1°16′) and Donald Trump’s Midheaven (1°03′).
Given these factors, the greatest threat to this agreement comes from Israel, which may provoke Iran in order to stop the signing of the agreement this Friday in Switzerland. If it is signed, expect more attempts by Israel to escalate the war and derail peace negotiations.
