The New Moon on 15 July 2015 falls in Cancer decan 3. At 23 degrees Cancer, this new moon actually falls in the Gemini Constellation, hence the image above of Two Twins Fighting. The astrology of the July 15 new moon is really intense, with three complex alignments involving all the planets except Neptune.

Though there is the promise of riches, love and happiness with the ongoing Venus Jupiter alignment, there are battles ahead to get there. A crisis due to unexpected changes means people will go to great lengths to achieve victory.

New Moon Meaning

A new moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new 28 day cycle. With the Sun conjunct Moon, all possibilities are on the table and you can rightly put yourself in the forefront of new plans for the future. Old habits, behaviors and beliefs can be questioned as you search for new and inventive ways to make progress. This is the ideal time to make a fresh start and start writing down a to-do list on a blank sheet of paper.

However, the impulsive and enthusiastic nature of a new moon means that not all new projects will succeed. The best time for making a fresh start and for beginning new projects is during the first two weeks of a new moon cycle. This waxing phase of the moon lasts from the July 15 new moon until the July 31 full moon.

Keeping inline with recent moon phases, we have another intense and complex one to decipher. It is actually more complex than usual because the three major aspects in the chart all involve three planets. There is the new moon itself square Uranus. Mercury and Mars opposite Pluto, then Venus and Jupiter square Saturn. There is also a major fixed star in close alignment with the New Moon.

The July 15 New Moon at 23°14 Cancer, very tightly aligns with the fixed star Pollux at 23°25 Cancer. Even though the new moon is in the Sign of Cancer, the star Pollux belongs to the Constellation of Gemini. This confusing fact is a result of the precession of the equinoxes, whereby the Constellations have moved backward through the Signs by about 30 degrees, or a whole sign.

So the Constellation Gemini is now in the Sign Cancer, and the Constellation Cancer ins now in the Sign Leo. This fundamental flaw in the Zodiac (Ring of Animals) gives great ammunition to scientists and skeptics, and they have a strong argument. There is a small but growing number of astrologers who views the stars as the backdrop to the planets, not the imaginary Signs of the Zodiac which were fixed in place over 2000 years ago.

I am one of those astrologers who use the Zodiac as it was originally intended, a convenient celestial measuring device. I use these divisions to write my monthly and yearly horoscopes. For interpretation of a particular area of the Zodiac however, I look to the Fixed Stars and their Constellations.

Thus for New Moon July 2015 astrology interpretation, the Gemini Constellation recalls the varies myths of mortal combat between siblings. Legends such as Cain and Abel, or in our case, Castor and Pollux. During historical periods of extreme crisis, such as extinction events and major earth changes, two siblings, two families, or two tribes, are forced into a fight for survival over limited resources. The battle would have been over a woman, food, shelter or land.

The July 15 new moon will result in battles over such things, but also ideologies, money, water and energy resources. What would you fight for to the death, to defend in a time of extreme crisis? Your children, your spouse, your home?

Our new moon story focuses on one particular side, that of the Immortal Twin. Pollux the Boxer is the victor, favored by Zeus. Victory does not come without a battle, so this star does give a tendency for getting into arguments, but also penetrating mental power. Eminence and renown come through occult talents, audacity, bravery and craftiness. Along the way however, cruelty, accidents and injuries, violence and calamity must be dealt with. How far would you go to win?

The major aspect associated with the New Moon is Sun square Uranus. So the cause of any battle or struggle during this moon phase is a recent unexpected change. It could be changes in career, a relationship or some other circumstance. How extreme or threatening this change is will determine how hard you have to struggle to adapt to these changes. Adaption is the only real option because the alternative is not pleasant.

The New Moon square Uranus increases nervous tension but also heightens the senses and reaction times. Unsettled emotions and erratic behavior mean we are more likely to react in ways we normally would not. It is surprising what people are capable of when faced with the drastic changes of a crisis.

The Jupiter Venus conjunction remain in effect for all of this new moon phase because Venus retrograde begins on July 25. This places a focus on love and money for the whole new moon phase. Although Venus conjunct Jupiter is on of the most fortunate of all aspects in astrology, Venus square Saturn is one of the most challenging aspects of all. Adding to the stress and fear is Jupiter square Saturn with Saturn still retrograde.

The Mercury Mars alignment opposite Pluto suggests that extremes of thinking and ideas will intensify the battle between people of groups. It heightens the risk of discussions and negotiations escalating to arguments, intimidation, threats and violence.

All the planets with the exception of Neptune are involved in challenging aspects for the July 15 New Moon. At the personal level it means the stakes are very high. At the global level it means that masses of people will be affected by the outcomes of the battles.

Those people with higher spiritual ideals can take some comfort out of the Gemini Twins legend. Although most cultures have always represented this myth as the struggle between two siblings, the Chinese represent The Twins with the Yin Yang Symbol. Still the two but without the conflict.
