A Yod in astrology represents a special task or mission in life that the person feels compelled to undertake. Of the 100 German Nazi’s listed at astrodatabank only 6 have Yod aspect configurations. Each had crucial roles to play in the war.  These these six guys were certainly on a “mission”.

ALFRED ROSENBERG  had a decisive role in influencing the philosophies of Adolf Hitler. Rosenberg was “considered one of the main authors of key Nazi ideological creeds, including its racial theory, persecution of the Jews, Lebensraum, abrogation of the Treaty of Versailles, and opposition to “degenerate” modern art” [wiki].

Rosenberg was born on the same day as Hermann Goering, only 3 hours apart. They would have been executed on the same day if Goering hadn’t killed himself. Rosenburg has the Yod apex planet, Uranus, in the philosophical 9th house and also had Mercury rising on the fixed star Polis “high office in spiritual life….or at least a prominent Theologian”. This interpretation by Dr. Eric Morse certainly rings true here with Rosenberg having such an influential role in shaping Nazi doctrine, to the point of twisting Christianity into a Nazi faith.

His DC was on Propus “The ability to express ideas in reasonable and acceptable ways which win because of their manifest intelligence.” Kudos to Morse again. Despite what we may think of these characters, they were no doubt intelligent. Hitler had his part of Fortune on this star. Interesting synasty. Rosenberg’s DC, partner, on Hitler’s Part of Fortune. Rosenberg was the only one of these six character to have hung at Nuremberg, on the morning of 16 October 1946.

ERHARD MILCH

was the protege of Hermann Goering and is credited with creating the German Air Force. Milch also had Uranus as apex of a Yod, but also had another with Neptune, Pluto and MC at the apex. Milch was the son of a Jewish pharmacist and possible even a Jewish mother. In 1935 the Gestapo investigated his genealogy and Goering came to his defense saying “I decide who is a Jew”.

Milch and Goering had a close but volatile relationship. In 1944 Milch back stabbed his boss and plotted against him with the help of Heinrich Himmler. They underestimated Hitler’s fondness for Goering though, and Milch was demoted by Goering. In their synastry, Mars is prominent as you would expect for this feisty relationship. Milch has his Mars opposite Goering’s Vertex, and Goerings Mars is on Milch’s Sun.

Could his Jewish heritage have saved him from the gallows? He was convicted at Nuremberg of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and sentenced to life behind bars. But he was released just 4 years later in June 1954, when transiting Jupiter trined his Uranus Yod apex, and Mars sextile it.

WILHELM CANARIS

was an Admiral and head of the Abwehr, German military intelligence. He worked against Hitler by giving intelligence to the British and saving hundreds of Jews. He plotted many assassination attempts on Hitler including the failed July 20 Plot at the Wolf’s Lair which left Hitler only slightly injured. Himmler was onto him for years though, and had him placed under house arrest before the assassination attempt. He was tortured and finally executed on 09 April 1945.

Canaris’s  Yod apex was Jupiter with the Vertex on the fixed star Syrma “to cover, to protect and to suppress.” This was his mission which he gave his life for. He was trumped by Himmler, who had his Moon (Yod apex) conjunct his Moon, and his Mercury on Canaris’ Yod apex. Himmler’s sun was also on Canaris’ Uranus.

HERMANN GOERING

was commander of the Luftwaffe, the German Air force, and second only to Hitler as head of Nazi Germany. He was a morphine addict for the last 23 years of his life. As mentioned earlier, he has the same Yod configuration as Rosenberg. This time the Yod apex Uranus is in the 12th house, fitting with his addiction and time spent in hospitals, exile and prison.

Goering, like Milch, had a Neptune Pluto conjunction on Alderbaran “With Neptune: gain through metals, military or scientific instruments, especially if Mars is strong”. Mars was strong with it being part of the Yod, sextiling Neptune Pluto. There was a Solar Eclipse on Alderbaran on 30 May 1946, preceding his suicide on 15 October 1946, when transiting Mercury was on his Yod apex and Venus on his AC.

As Hitler’s second in command and long time friend, the synastry between then is close as expected. Hitlers tight Venus Mars conjunction is opposed by Goering’s Moon. Hitler’s DC is conjunct Goering’s Vertex. Hitler’s Mercury opposite Goering’s Fortunae, and Hitler’s IC conjunct Goering’s Part of Fortune.

RUDOLF HESS

was an SS General and deputy to Hitler in the Nazi party. Another Uranus Yod, this time to a sextile between Mercury and Neptune. A good configuration for an astrologer? Well he was an astrologer but he also had an “abnormal mind”. Hess had yet another Yod apex on Uranus, this time on the fixed star Zuben Elgenubi “With Uranus: Sharp, cunning, dangerous, abnormal mind, thought reader, always injuring others, may commit undiscovered crime, violent passions but great control, secret revenge, latter part of life in asylum or prison, violent death”. After spending the last 42 years of his life in Spandau Prison, he was found hanging from electrical wire at age 93. Aldebaran was setting at his death, on his natal Pluto.

Hess is famous for his defection and flight to Scotland on the evening of 10 May 1941. For an astrologer he sure picked an bad time. Mercury, Venus, Jupiter AND Uranus all on the fixed star Algol. No wonder things didn’t work out so well for him from that day on.

HEINRICH HIMMLER

certainly had the most horrid of life purposes. His mission handed to him by Hitler was the “Final Solution”. As head of the SS, Himmler coordinated the massacre of over 10 million people, unprecedented in the history of the world. His chart deserves a more in depth analysis.

Himmler’s Yod apex was the 1st house Moon on the Aries Point, made even more potent as it is the focal point of a T-square to the Saturn Neptune opposition. That Saturn opposite Neptune is generational, but squaring the Moon makes it very personal. Fear and suspicion just perfect for his role. Self discipline and trusting only himself. Saturn giving steely emotions. Neptune giving a religious feeling to his task. He was a devout Catholic.

The two benefics in his chart are made militant by being on warlike stars of Mars Jupiter nature. Jupiter on the fixed star Antares is again strengthened by being conjunct Uranus and MC. This is a warrior star with a “decidedly martial and malefic nature….an important star for military personnel and is said to convey mental alertness, strategic ability and courage and to make dare-devils, especially if tied up with the MC, Ascendant, Sun or Jupiter.”

Venus is on the star Regulus, another violent and destructive influence. Even more closely conjuncting his Venus by only 07′ is Phecda “a great blood bath”.

His IC is on Alderbaran “intelligence, eloquence, steadfastness, integrity, popularity, courage, ferocity”. That’s 3 of the 4 royal stars of ancient Persia in his chart, the archangel stars or horsemen of the Apocalypse.

The Mercury Venus sextile can explain that eloquence in his speeches, his ability to talk his troops into carrying out the Final Solution. Using Marina’s interpretative skills:

“Mercury in the 8th, magic skills, with Scorpio’s intensity and penetration, it works with Venus in the 7th, diplomatic charm with Leo’s flamboyance, commanding and charismatic nature. Both honing in on the public Moon in doubly passionate and Marsy Aries in the 1st. Convincing and sucking them in with his emotional style.”

To illustrate the action of this Yod, his skill in carrying out his mission by convincing his men to complete his task, below is an excerpt from the Poznan speech 04 October 1943:

Most of you will know what it means when 100 bodies lie together, when there are 500, or when there are 1000. And to have seen this through, and — with the exception of human weaknesses — to have remained decent, has made us hard and is a page of glory never mentioned and never to be mentioned.

Like many of his Nazi peers, Himmler had an interest in the occult. He enlisted the services of the astrologer Wilhelm Wulff, and toward the end relied heavily on his advice. Of all these 6 Nazi Yods, Himmler’s is the most powerful, reflecting his most profound role in history. Himmler was captured on 23 May 1945 and promptly bit down on his cyanide tablet.

Adolf Hitler had a special type of Yod called a Golden Yod. The apex planet (Moon) biquintile two planets (Saturn and Neptune) in quintile. It would appear that Yods have a magnetic effect, attracting other Yods to them. He certainly surrounded himself with powerful people, each with the ability as shown in their charts for carrying out a specific mission. Although each of these men accomplished their missions to best of their ability, none was completely successful. If you believe in karma and reincarnation, then you would expect some of these souls to be back again. Sometimes you can’t be very very good till you’ve been very very bad.
