The 14th Chinese lunar mansion is named 壁宿 Bì Su, “Wall Mansion.” It is the 7th of the 7 mansions of the Black Tortoise of the North.
The 1st asterism of the Wall Mansion is also called 壁 Bì, “Wall.” It resembles a wall and is also called Dong Bi, “Eastern Wall, symbolizing the celestial library. Bi is composed of 2 stars of the constellations Andromeda and Pegasus. [1]

If Mercury transits Bi, there are matters of concealment and preservation in the state. If it remains here, close ministers are worried; one interpretation holds that mourning or warfare occurs in its region, with treacherous ministers plotting. If moving retrograde while remaining here, bridges and roads become impassable.
If a guest star transits Bi, scholars will die; one interpretation is that there will be mourning or casualties. If it enters here, earthworks and water events occur. If it remains in the region, the year sees frequent storms. When it leaves, many oxen and horses die.
If a comet transits Bi, it signifies war, fire. One interpretation is that there will be great floods and people will be displaced. [If a comet transits this star, warfare or fire occurs; one interpretation states great floods with displaced people. If a bo (a type of celestial phenomenon) transits here, warfare arises along with fire and water disasters.
If a meteor transits this region, literary pursuits decline; the divination for the year Yi Si says: “If the color is yellow or white, scholars will be employed throughout the realm.”
If red clouds enter Bi, it signifies war; if black, the country below will be destroyed; if yellow, foreign countries will offer tribute; another interpretation is that a martyr (or righteous person) will rise to prominence in the realm.
According to the bronze instrument of the Yongyuan era of the Han dynasty, the two stars on the eastern wall are nine degrees apart. The old distance from the pole is 86 degrees. According to Jingyou’s measurements, the second star of the Bi constellation is 9 degrees away, and the distance from the pole of the Southern Star is 85 degrees. [5]
