ASCELLA.   ζ Sagittarii.
Notes.   A binary star situated in the armpit of Sagittarius.
Influence.  Of the nature of Jupiter and Mercury. It gives good fortune and happiness. [5]

ASCELLA.   ζ Sagittarii.
This star is a binary of two components that revolve around each other every 18½ years. The magnitude of the companion star is 4.4. The spectral color of the main star is A2N. The spectral color of the companion star is not known.
BASIC INFLUENCES:   This star imparts to its natives spirituality, the overcoming of evil, great gains, good judgment, and happiness. Negatively, a troublesome nature, disagreeableness and shamelessness. [6]

Head of the Archer.
In the Head of the Archer is a nebulous star with Mars-Saturn nature and a slight Jupiter influence. Few people are supposedly ready to receive the spiritual emanations of this fixed star. A part of the Milky Way passes through the first half of Capricorn, and in it are an uncountable number of star clusters and stellar nebulae, supposedly giving rise to weak eyesight in its natives.
In the examples, one can recognize the conjunction of the fixed star with the Sun in the life of poet and sculptor Ernst Barlach, who tried to expound “the tragic situation of man between this life and the hereafter,” and in the life of the actress Gertrud Kückelmann. Writer Mary Lavater-Soliman had a conjunction with Mercury; she wrote novels pointing out how people gifted with independent action make their way into a better future. Aviatrix Elly Beinhorn has a conjunction with Uranus. [7]

Ascella, or Axilla, ζ Sagittarii, is the Latin name for the armpit of the Archer, which is where this star is located It is within the orb of both the preceding star Nunki, and the next one, Manubrium, and indeed the very bright Vega (α Lyrae) next after that, and which may be said by some to dominate the whole group here. Each must be seen as adding qualities to the others, and receiving the same from them. Ascella needs little further comment from us since, being another Jupiter-Mercury type it really serves simply to widen the orb of Nunki. [8]

Ascella is a fortunate star said to bring happiness. [9]

Ascella rules below the right knee. [10]

Seven Killings Star

In Chinese astronomy, Ascella is the sixth star of the Southern Dipper. Its astronomical name is Dou Su Liu, Dipper Six. Anciently, it was known as the General Star, and now, more commonly, Qui Sha, the Seven Killings Star.
Ascella is one of the Fourteen Main Stars used in Chinese astrology (Purple Star Astrology). It belongs to the elements of fire and metal. Ascella is a pioneering type among the four major categories of major stars (pioneering, leadership, support, and cooperation).
Ascella is a resolute and courageous star symbolizing “might and bravery.” As the General Star, it governs “ruthlessness and killing.” As one of the six inauspicious stars, it gives impulsiveness and a life of ups and downs, marked by both great success and great failure, with opportunities for sudden wealth, but also the risk of sudden ruin. [11]
Success will inevitably come through hardship and suffering, with a major turning point or a difficult period. During this time, it is advisable to be down-to-earth and avoid speculation and wishful thinking. Once the difficulties are overcome, the light will appear. Even if well-aspected, success will come later in life. With harsh aspects, success will be even more difficult to achieve. Early life will be filled with setbacks, misfortunes, and physical ailments.
You will be hardworking and often not rely on parents or ancestors for inheritance, building your own fortune through hard work and dedication. It is advisable to live away from your birthplace to achieve success in middle and old age. If early life is smooth, it will likely be unfavorable in middle and old age.
You should do good deeds and accumulate virtue, and avoid doing bad things to avoid the misfortune of a short lifespan. It is most advisable to believe in religion, cultivate your character, and reduce your violent temper. Then all aspects of your situation will improve. [13]

Ascella Strengths.
Open-minded, unafraid of challenges, adventurous, strategic, authoritative, generous, quick-witted, chivalrous, unpretentious, speaks with authority, rebellious, likes to break the status quo, daring, likes independence, competitive, decisive, efficient, honest, selfless, capable of handling tasks independently, and has a strong drive for self-discipline.

Ascella Weaknesses.
Impulsive, reckless, impatient, unstable, speculative, mischievous, timid, moody, argumentative, cynical, bloodthirsty, ruthless, stubborn, proud, suspicious, disregards consequences, prone to verbal conflicts, likes to play pranks, extreme in thinking, likes to drink and eat, lacks external support, difficulty distinguishing between good and evil, bullies the weak and fears the strong, prone to extreme and unpredictable actions, life full of ups and downs, hardships in early years and loneliness after going through many hardships.

Personality.
Among the fourteen major stars, Ascella possesses the strongest personality. It gives a spirit of adventure and risk-taking, a willingness to charge into battle, go all out and fight alone. Ascella makes you intense, competitive, rational, independent, with the ability to strategize and plan effectively.
Towards friends, regardless of right or wrong, they will always stand by their side. This loyalty often moves many. They are people of their word, always keeping their promises without question, and can act quickly, quickly resolving even the most hesitant matters.
Ascella makes you intense, competitive, rational, independent, intelligent, authoritative, able to stand alone, and capable of strategizing and planning effectively. Harsh aspects can make you violent,  impulsive, irrational, restless, suspicious and ruthless.
Ascella in the natal chart gives very rapid and dramatic mood swings. Ascella is like a general, not always bound by the emperor’s orders, so you are not easily controlled. However, you are quite capable, persistent, self-motivated and usually very helpful.
The traditional Chinese names, the “Seven Killings Star” and the “General Star,” indicate a bold, decisive, straightforward and fierce nature with a bad temper. The saying goes, “the brave are often ruthless.” On the positive side, this means being willing to take on responsibilities; on the negative side, it means being aggressive and competitive.
With Ascella in your natal chart, you are quite difficult to manage. In times of chaos, Ascella can make you a general, making full use of your strengths; in times of peace and prosperity, however, you may become a dissident who clashes with the system.
However, among bandits, the victor becomes king, and the vanquished becomes a bandit. Therefore, one must not categorize all those with Ascella as rebels. Traditional Chinese astrology has bestowed too many stigmas upon the pioneering Ascella, such as loneliness, harm, punishment, and injury, especially misleading women with Ascella, which has been extremely harmful and needs to be re-examined.
Those born under Ascella are upright, loyal, and righteous, but also independent, arrogant, and prone to ups and downs, and never seeking stability. Like a tiger in the wilderness, though magnificent and self-assured, it is often lonely and inevitably weathered. Even when interacting with people of the same personality, due to their strong likes and dislikes, as the saying goes, “two tigers cannot share one mountain,” they often end up parting on bad terms. [11]
You are very clear about right and wrong, always repay kindness, have a strong sense of justice, and help friends and the weak. When you are angered by being accused, betrayed, or sold out, you will retaliate fiercely, even to the point of fighting. However, you are very upright and will hold yourself accountable openly and honestly. [12]

Relationships.
With a life full of changes and driven by a strong work ethic, your decisiveness and speed can easily cause you to miss out on good romantic opportunities. You typically prefer either capable colleagues or equally matched competitors. Therefore, you have a good chance of rising to a higher social status.
However, don’t assume you can manage your relationships as well as your career. Despite being surrounded by admirers in public, you are quite conservative when it comes to romance. Ultimately, you either obey your parents’ wishes or rely on matchmakers, because you are simply too busy to manage marriage, a minor drawback.
Men may be more attracted to beautiful women, and women to handsome men, more so than the average person. However, your spouse is usually quite accommodating, as it’s difficult to contend with Ascella head-on. [11]

Career.
Ascella is favorable for careers in the military, police, industrial work, trade, engineering, surgery, and tourism, as well as for generals, spies, business people, entrepreneurs, designers, and nurses. It is advisable to make a living through skills.
Because Ascella governs change, it is well-suited to business and trade. You can achieve success and acquire a lot of wealth amid constant change.
You have a strong work ethic, can overcome various difficulties, and can achieve success and recognition in society after middle age. [13]

Spending Habits.
You value not only practicality but also brand names. You believe in using high-quality, well-known brands and prioritize quality over quantity. You buy only the best and most expensive items, and you’ll buy anything that catches your eye without ever considering your budget or price. You simply buy what you like.

Financial Management.
Ascella makes you a typical stock market vanguard because you love adventure, are impulsive, have a strong desire for money, and are prone to following others’ footsteps, fearing that if you fall behind you will suffer losses. Of course, there is a chance of making a lot of money, but the chance of charging into battle and suffering losses is even higher.

Health.
Ascella rules the cheekbone, intestines, lungs and trachea. Possibility of lung disease, tuberculosis, external injury from fighting, liver damage, stomach injury from excessive anger, vomiting and diarrhea sometimes with blood, inconsistent dryness and wetness of the large intestine, hemorrhoids, poor gastrointestinal health.

Life and Death.
Ascella rules punishment and killing, life and death. It is the star of generals, governing military affairs, all plans for harm and destruction, external attacks, war plans, and competition. When power is exercised to its limit, war will occur. Tangible things will be killed, but you cannot kill the spirit and energy of intangible things. In other words, if you do not gain power, you may be killed before you die of old age. Ascella is the star of spiritual drive. [11]

Rulership.
Success or failure, life and death, significant fluctuations, shocks, external injuries, fights, tension, stress, and terrorist events. [13]
Matters involving harm, management affairs of the military, police, and judiciary, operational planning, competitive matters (commercial competition, military conflict), planning affairs of heavy industry, offensive policy affairs, psychological warfare strategies, military and police supplies and machinery, lethal ironware or weapons, weapons (knives, guns, swords, etc.), medical and surgical instruments, heavy industrial production tools, hardware,  the number ten, or the complete number, and also the suffering and hardship that befalls complete things. [11]

Compared to other Major Stars.
As a high-ranking general in the Dipper, Ascella is a solitary and inauspicious star, governing success and failure, and wielding the power of life and death. It also signifies the position of a censor. Both Kaus Borealis and Ascella govern censorship, i.e., officials in charge of discipline and law. However, Kaus Borealis, being civil, resides in the back office, while Ascella, being military, resides in the front office. In the military, it represents military police; in administration and enterprises, it represents managers.
Both Ascella and Alkaid are general stars. Ascella represents the commander-in-chief, who is more mentally taxing and experiences many hardships. He is capable of handling things independently. Alkaid represents the vanguard, who is more physically taxing and experiences many fluctuations. He is under Ascella’s command.
Both Ascella and Alkaid signify loneliness, hardship, and great destructive power. Ascella is more strategic, while Alkaid is reckless. Ascella is calmer and more composed, while Alkaid is more violent and frivolous. The destruction of Ascella is constructive, while the destruction of Alkaid is destructive for the sake of destruction. Ascella’s loneliness stems from the environment, while Alkaid’s is self-inflicted.
The three stars, Ascella, Dubhe, and Alkaid, are always arranged in a triangular formation. Ascella strategizes, Dubhe issues commands, and Alkaid charges into battle. All three stars represent creation and change. Ascella’s creation is the pursuit of substantial desires in one’s career; Ascella’s changes come suddenly, catching people off guard, and the changes are not necessarily related to the old profession. They can start from scratch, such as changing careers or professions. [12]

Professional Relationships.
The interaction patterns between Ascella (pioneering) and various types of people among the four major categories of major stars (pioneering, leadership, support, and cooperation). From the perspectives of Ascella as a manager and as a subordinate.

When your subordinates are pioneering types: They are the same type of person as you, so think about how you dislike being treated and don’t treat them the same way. For example, use fewer commands and more questions, such as “please,” “maybe,” and “excuse me,” to make them feel respected.
Moreover, you must be better than them in a certain aspect and have achieved results before they will respect you; otherwise, the trouble they create will outweigh their achievements.

When your subordinates are leadership-type: Leaders are naturally complementary to you. They believe in a high success rate with a well-developed plan and will be very proactive. However, it’s difficult to impress them if you don’t provide a complete plan beforehand.
Be careful not to change your words too often, as this will confuse him. Lead and assist him in a gentler way, making him feel respected and valued. Listen to his opinions and occasionally adopt them; this will easily win him over.

When your subordinates are support type: Supportive people are your natural adversaries; they will think you are too impatient and don’t think things through enough, while you will think they talk too much and have too many reasons.
To manage them, you need to value their feelings and give them more opportunities to express their thoughts. Encourage them to be concise and to the point. Make sure to praise their performance in public often, creating opportunities for the group to recognize and accept them.

When your subordinates are cooperative: Collaborative people often think differently from you, which can easily lead to misunderstandings. So make sure they fully understand your thoughts and don’t make them guess, as that will make them feel insecure.
At the same time, encourage them to focus on the issue rather than the person and to practice expressing their personal opinions. Don’t keep your thoughts to yourself. Remind them that you are not good at guessing riddles.

When your supervisor is an innovator: You are both pioneering personalities and often admire each other, but there are also many times when you disagree and have serious conflicts.
So be careful: as a subordinate, you can only be tolerant and not infringe on your supervisor’s dignity and territory. In front of him, you must not only be capable and obedient, but also do more and say less.

When your supervisor is a leader: You seem quite accepting of his leadership skills and management style, but be aware that he values the team, and your independent approach will cause him considerable distress. Never act unilaterally, and remember not to force him to make decisions.

When your supervisor is supportive: You’re not entirely happy with supportive managers, finding them too talkative, lacking initiative, and hesitant. They not only appreciate you sitting and listening, but also your participation and interaction. Therefore, you must be patient, listen attentively, repeat, respond, and refrain from interrupting.

When your supervisor is a collaborative type: Working with a cooperative manager will be far more of a headache for them than for you. Never refuse them directly; instead, clearly tell them what resources you need to achieve your goals, and often feign helplessness to get their assistance. This approach is likely to succeed.

Ascella with other fixed stars in the natal chart.

Ascella and Phecda: Wealth acquired through the spouse, a smooth early marriage, but a less desirable later life, potentially leading to separation.

Ascella and Kochab: Wisdom and courage, willing to take on responsibilities, drive, nobility, a domineering presence, and naturally exude extraordinary charisma.

Ascella and Alkaid: Relies on cruelty. Ascella is a big knife, and Alkaid is a small knife, so becoming a doctor (in surgery or with the opportunity to perform surgery) is a good direction. Engaging in technology is also worth considering.

Ascella and Alioth: Full of drive and courage, accumulates wealth, tends to marry someone of questionable character, and bury corpses on the road.

Ascella and Mizar: A smooth early marriage, but a less desirable later life, potentially leading to separation. The natures of Ascella and Mizar are contradictory, so there is the possibility of a lack of great achievements and therefore no great successes or failures.

Ascella and φ Sgr, Namalsadirah I: A second marriage, or the spouse may undergo surgery. [11]

Constellation Sagittarius

SAGITTARIUS.   The Archer.
Legend.   This constellation represents the wise and just Centaur Chiron, who was killed by accidentally dropping one of the poisoned arrows of Hercules upon his foot.
Influence.   The following are Ptolemy’s remarks: “The stars at the point of the arrow in Sagittarius have influence similar to that of Mars and the Moon: those on the bow, and at the grasp of the hand, act like Jupiter and Mars . . . those in the waist and in the back resemble Jupiter, and also Mercury moderately: those in the feet, Jupiter and Saturn.” … By the Kabalists Sagittarius is associated with the Hebrew letter Vau and the 6th Tarot Trump “The Lovers.” [5]

Now called Sagittarius (Sgr), this constellation is the Domicile of Dianna and in classical times was also known as Diannae Sidus. It is a fortunate and fruitful constellation indicating events pertaining to kings or a large portion of mankind.
